Sunday’s long run was missed, I moved it till Monday. Monday was hot I did not do it. I then decided after careful perusal of the calendar, to do week 5 of the training plan again,  I still have time, phew. However this week I have struggled to get out there and RUN. Tuesday’s interval session, was postponed till this morning. This morning even though I had my kit on I did not go out.

Finally after four hours at the beach with Madam, (I did contemplate counting bobbing about in the sea as intervals) I prepped dinner and headed out on to the playing field for my killer interval session. Madam joined me for her own sprint session, choosing to measure out 100m and time herself. (light weight my sprints were 200m) she wearily in formed me after one spring, that Bolt is only 7 seconds faster! I did not inform her that Bolt runs on the flat not on a slight downhill!

On the gardening front am pleased finally that the tomatoes (well one really) are behaving themselves and starting to show signs of embarrassment.

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

    Downhill intervals are so much more pleasing than on the flat-and not just for kids! Love the tomato and especially love the pic.

    I love homegrown tomatoes, they may actually be my favourite thing in the world!

    Well done on the sprints and “pah” to Bolt. He has an advantage, he has long legs 😉
