Grumpy

Yes today I was grumpy

grumpy

you see Sunday is LSR day, but I have not managed one during January yet. Last week I announced to them indoors that for the next two Sundays I would be doing a long run and everything else would have to be planned around that! (Yeah right) LSR are my favourite they are what I get my sense of achievement from, I love the tired hungry feeling after wards, to me it’s what it is all about.

However mid-week I remembered Madam had a Sportshall competition today, I knew there would be no way I would fit one in before leaving and set about planning one after wards. Usually Madam is finished by 1:30 leaving plenty of time afterwards but today of course she chose to do a later event not finishing till 2:30 . (Grumpy scale 8/10)

So on the nicest weather day of the year so far, I am in a sportshall sat on the floor for three hours, being kicked and kneed in the back my children who seemed not to see me. (Grumpy scale 10/10)

Madam was pleased with her performance. (Grumpy scale 8/10)

Fortunately the competition ran to time and we were out quick. The sun was still out. (Grumpy Scale 6/10)

Hubby was contacted and we met at designated time and place. Child was exchanged. I set off to run the Exe Estuary Way. It was a beautiful afternoon still lots of families out making the most of the trail, cyclists, walkers, bird watchers, train spotters, scooterers. Great to see so many people using this great facility. LSR accomplished (9.5 miles) with not a bad pace. (Grumpy scale 1/10)

Called hubby at mile 4 asked him to put dinner in to be done at 6 pm and also to tape the football. (Dinner prepped by me at 8 am!) Turkey, potatoes and veg ready at 5:15 unfortunately I was in charge of the yorkshires they were ready at 6! (Grumpy Scale 7/10)

Dinner eaten. Cider drunk. Football watched. (Grumpy scale 1/10)

Tomorrow am hoping to be more

happybut I can’t promise!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

Oooooh, I know that feeling all too well! I had a mini grump as I parked the car tonight…..hubby told me I’d reversed in at an angle. Hmmmm…..not a good thing to say to a tired woman!

I think you need to copyright your Grumpy Scale and start marketing it, I recon you could make a fortune and thus your own Grumpy Scale Score would hopefully be 0 as you’d be a millionaire and would have all the time in the world for super long runs!

Great post and nice new angle on the day.

Do you happen to know what birds the birdwatchers see? I love spotting birds when I’m out running. Last year, early one Sunday morning, I saw a flock of waxwings raiding a tree for berries in a suburban London street, but I don’t see much out of the ordinary usually.

  8. Excellent post! Hope tomorrow you’re feeling happier
