A wee run

With work being scarce again today, I was able to watch the weather and get out for a brief mile in the dry. It was colder than I thought, which gives the title a double meaning, I was glad to get back home, dry for more than one reason.

The rest of the day was spent cleaning out my kitchen cupboards which involved alphabetising the herbs and spices and discarding anything with a use before date pre 2000, clearly these need to be in a museum rather than in my kitchen or stomach. Oh the exciting life I lead.

Next it was on to varnishing the newly fitted staircase, banister and newel post. Of course hubby has come in, used the stairs, walked past the stairs, sat on the stairs, looked at the stairs and NOT noticed. I will let you come to your own conclusions how I this is sitting with me! Spot the difference!

The chocolate for today is ( I checked no arsenic laden one for hubby) the Dual Layered Praline (two layers of varnish used or maybe it was vanish!)

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

Oooh busy busy! Laughed at the arsenic laden choc!!!! So funny!!!! My hubby is totally oblivious but im too scared to take my new Nikes out…. Phwoar Shaz they ARE bright!!!! Its like someone mixed the highlighter up with the trainer colours!!!! 🙂

  2. Love the stairs, Shaz, they look great. I know what you mean about husbands and jobs. I put a note on the door where the coffee is kept for Paul, with a reminder of what needs to be done (it’s usually got to desperate level by the stage the note goes there). He knows that my patience is being tested…the one that gets put there the most is ‘please get a hair cut’! Oh dear. I had a giggle about the chocolate of choice for your hubby! Good job on the cold running – sounds freezing!

Exquisitely well matched chocolate visually speaking. Didn’t know it was called a newel post – your blog is expanding my vocab 🙂 Well done on getting out in the cold.

Poor hubby! Don’t you know that men’s brains are generally on a higher plane?

On behalf of completely unobservant people everywhere, I apologise!

Those look great! (The stairs AND the chocolate!) I’m sad to say, the men just don’t notice things. So on behalf of my gender, I’m sorry.
