Today is Thursday and the gardens at St Michael’s Mount are open and although we have visited the mount twice I have never seen the gardens. This morning we walked to the mount with the intention of doing so, however on arrival there was signs up stating that visitors would have to leave within two hours due to bad weather rolling in (really how unusual!), this also meant the gardens were closed. Huge disappointment. We chatted to two ladies in the garden shop for a while and apparently it is the people who live in the castle daughters wedding this weekend, I do hope the weather changes and that they manage to clean up the sea weed that was washed up in the garden last night.
We decided to leave the Mount for another day and headed back to get the car and then go to Flambards. Flambards is an amusement park with rides and various attractions.
The first ride we came to was spinney and I don’t do spinney rides due to the motion making me feel very car sick, so hubby was volunteered to go on with madam. I don’t think he will ever go on a ride again as he came off very green and continued to be so for the rest of the day which resulted in a cheap lunch!
The rain rolled in again at 4 o’clock but by this time we were heading out.
(I did manage a very little run this morning but hope to do better tomorrow)
Now helsbels apparently comes from this way (I did not know that but must ask her why she would want to leave this beautiful part of the country to live in London) anyway she has ordered that I do the following
You must eat a saffron bun. Never heard of it but seeing as it has bun in the title am willing to give it a go.
You must have a pasty from Oggy Oggy Oggy Pasty Company. Love pasties so will google this to find the nearest location-thanks
If you have a cream tea, jam before cream. Should i have cream tea it would always be jam first as I don’t have the cream but should hubby have one I will ensure he does it correctly and post a pic! Thanks Hels
I have heard that Devin and Cornwall have different ways if doing cream tea, one puts the cream first and the other puts the jam first
Maybe she was blown to London by the wind.
I’m impressed Flambards is still there – I went a couple of times as a child. Great fun, but would probably want to avoid all spinney rides these days! 😉
Jam before cream – ugh!! Sacrilege!!
