Sleep deprivation

Not much sleep for any of us last night I’m afraid, madams cough got worse and it

Tired Shaz

seemed like every time I drifted to sleep, she started coughing, it was her version of Chinese Water torture. At midnight her very generous father offered to swap beds with her so she came in with me and the noise was just nearer! At 4 am when I should have been thinking of getting up for my run she discovered her cow was not with her. Now ‘cowpow’ is practically a member of the family goes everywhere with us, he even has his own passport and Chelsea kit. I went in search of this soft toy; this meant groping hubby for a bit and in doing so put my hand in some sick!!! Yep he had crawled in to

Cowpow

her bed without turning on the light and had spent the night under a duvet with puke on it! I tried not to laugh too hard as I pointed it out. I located cow and returned to my lovely noisy but sick free bed.

Another day at home no dilemma today about school/work there was no way she was well enough. Doctor diagnosed virus over the phone, but will take her for an in person diagnosis tomorrow if all is not well still.

The day passed ver slowly and quietly, I managed to make a cake and madam was not

Cake mix

even interested in having the beaters, usually she is hanging around the kitchen waiting for me to let her have them and the bowl to lick out! With no-one else to do the job it became the chefs perk. Yum

Hubby came in and I left (perfect marriage) to run to RC fat club for a weigh in. I promised the not so patient, patient that I would not run for long. Weigh in not so good have lost nothing!!! Run 38 miles in the past week and lost nothing!! Life is so unfair. Left the fat club quickly as was worried I would launch the scales out the window. Put iPod in and listened to Mika to pick up my spirits. Felt a bit like Forrest Gump as really wanted just to keep on running for a long while to run the frustration out. It was raining hard and had to take off my glasses as couldn’t see anything, can’t see much without them either , managed due to this to miss judge the kerb depth a couple of times and jar the knee. Ooops

Ran 3.37 miles would have made it up to 4 as hate those part miles, but couldn’t read the garmin and needed to get home. I need not have worried she was asleep when I got in, typical.

Will spend tomorrow (at home) working out how many miles and parts of I need to run to bring the total to a rounder number! Feel I will not make my target Janathon mile goal now, trying to convince myself it does not matter, hope life is brighter in the shazruns house tomorrow.

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

I have exactly the same problem with my glasses when it rains – I can’t see my watch but it makes me run faster anyway, just to get home sooner.

Inspiring effort all round. Hope there are fewer adversities for you to triumph over tomorrow.

Grrr! Hope you all have a better day tomorrow.

  4. ooh poor little one. those pesky viruses. i normally wear a baseball type cap with a long peak for keeping the rain off. it’s not fancy, just a cheap one from JJB or other ordinary sports shop.

  5. Well done for managing 3 miles after that sort of night/day. She must be poorly poor love if she can’t lick the bowl!
As for weight loss, I know its really frustrating – I think that after 26 miles I should loose (but I’m not) but after 38… Hopefully in Feb when we ease off (a bit) and have a rest day occasionally it will show in the scales?

What a yucky day/night! It’s always a ‘virus’ isn’t it. Hopefully she’ll be feeling better tomorrow and therefore you. And I know what you mean about targets, is it really unreachable?
