This week was half term and has been filled with all things touristy.

Sunday and Monday I had visitors from Essex and visited the Exeter Underground passages and the Cathedral (shelving the walk in the woods plan due to rubbish weather) with them.

Tuesday through Friday Madam and I headed to the relics in the East. Our time there was spent visiting friends, family, Southend (madam) and Colchester zoo.

Saturday we partook in some Parkrun tourism, traveling 40 minutes to Taunton in Somerset where I ran the route with a friend down from Essex. I liked the course, despite the nearly two laps. The path was even and a path all the way, no grass to tramp across. Obviously the best part was it was flat, and the second best part was having a good catch up all the way round.  I was mainly picking my companion’s brain as she has recently done an event that I am interested in doing next year. It will be my main focus next year………..but that’s another blog for another day!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
