Last week on a rare free from running evening I spent some time perusing the Internet, sending documents to the printer, high lighting text, counting weeks, annotating, reading and researching.

Usually I find a marathon training plan I like the look of on the Internet, print it off, stick it on the fridge and off I go. This time I am creating my own!

Must admit it’s harder than I thought. The long runs are in, but then I’ve got to put in club runs, hill runs, interval training, tempo runs and cross training. Aahhhhhhhhhh

Safe to say it’s a work in progress, another run free night tonight so it’s back to planning! Now where is that highlighter?

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

I just downloaded one! But it doesn’t allow for Parkrun etc so it sounds good to design your own around what you like to do. Like many activities, I suspect that half the fun is in the planning !

Must admit finding it a bit of a chore must get on with it! The best advice I ever got was ‘don’t be a slave to your plan’ I would follow a plan but adjust the hell out of it to ensure I got Parkrun and other events in, it needs to fit with your life.
