Let Grizzly Training Commence

Sunday training for my next event started.

It is not till March but this time I want to do it well so time for serious training. The Grizzly includes hills, beach running and lots of mud, the only way to crack it is to start training on this terrain. That’s why Sunday saw us bright and early running up this beach

It was quite a nice morning, warm and a bit windy, the bit windy thing changed when we got up on to the top of the cliff, this then became a lot windy! It was a tough run, with either big up  or steep downs and very little flat, but it did not kill us so should make us stronger! The sun joined us for a while

but the wind soon brought the cloud over followed by the drizzly rain.

Behind that cloud is a hill!

A good run, to be repeated, frequently!

I am currently working away from home for three days. Of course I have packed my kit as I love to run somewhere new, that is until tonight. The Hotel is rural situated on a busy road, I went out intending to do 5 to 6 miles but, my life flashed before me way too many times on the busy B road so I cut it short and did 4 miles, shame really as I felt it was going well. Tomorrow I will go shopping instead, safer for me but not my bank balance!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

  1. A good beach session is equal to double the miles on the road!! Well done!

  2. Hills, beach running and mud? That sounds tough! I’m with you about busy roads, Shaz, not nice. Shopping is a much better option!

it will never do you any good to get hit on a business trip–it will totally muddle up the work schedule.
