One of those weeks

This week could have gone smoother, granted I’ve had worse, but yes it has been one of those weeks.

Monday started with the Metafit class – aka exercise class that renders you unable to move for the next two days! Then it was back to work, only to find that I had not been paid my expenses for last month due to a ‘glitch’ in the system, sorting this out took two hours of my working day, not the best use of my time.

More work frustration on Thursday when I spent all day trying to get something to work, only to discover the reason it would not work was a comma in a child’s name. Oh you have got to love technology.

Wednesday night I started to get toothache, after another sleepless night on Thursday I pulled on my big girl knickers and called the dentist. By the time I got to the appointment late in the day, I was feeling rough and knew what was wrong, seems there is an infection under the tooth. Antibiotics prescribed, X-ray taken and it is back next week possibly for an extraction. The denist asked if I had allergies and was not very amused when I told her it was dentists!

So you can see why I was pleased when Friday was over!

Female relic has ordered ‘no running’ with the tooth abscess and fortunately I was able to oblige today as I was volunteering at parkrun this morning (but I might not be so obedient tomorrow-but ssshhhh)

The weather was wet and windy and from my vantage spot at marshal point two I was was able to watch the clouds come in and I spent some time wishing these fungi were bigger to give me some shelter!

It’s not often that I am pleased not to run, but this morning despite getting soaked I was very glad not to be negotiating the muddy course this morning.

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

Tooth pain is the worst. And misappropriated commas.

  2. Hope the tooth heals quickly! This morning I volunteered at parkrun too. We were battered by rain and wind!

  3. Great perspective on the mushroom photo πŸ™‚

    Don’t be too naughty tomorrow.

    Oh… And I couldn’t resist this…

  4. Oh dear, sounds like a frustrating week. I was once held hostage by a comma that should’ve been a full stop. This was back in the 80s. I had to get my Dad to come out and have a look at what was going on and it was simple as changing that tiny bit of punctuation – I was running a program to calculate statistics. Ugh. And as for the tooth. Ugh some more! Hope the antibiotics work fast!
