Portugal Day Four

I started my day with a run, unfortunately both my Garmin and my right ankle decided to play up. I ran, not a great run but 3 miles in the bag, just not sure how much manipulation on the half marathon training plan I am going to have to do to get it to fit!

This morning it rained! I know, what a shock, but it is a bank holiday (in the UK) so it seemed fitting. The rain last 10 minutes, and unlike UK rain, was most welcome.

We got a taxi in to Cascais. There are a few reasons for using a taxi, they are convenient, cheap and fast and the more we use them the less the family can moan about my driving when we get back to the UK-in theory. Today’s driver was Geronimo! So apt.

Our time was spent in the town exploring, beaching, retailing and eating. Here are some pics

The Lighthouse looks like one of those 3D puzzles, I love it, right colours wrong shape.

Before returning to the camp and an afternoon at the pool,

we grabbed some cakes from the bakery

All of them for under £2.50 just as well we don’t come here often or I would be HUGE! Mine was the coconut tart with the cherry on top, it was amazing.

Really hope my ankle behaves in the morning I have some calories to run off!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

I love Cascais! Spent 10 days here at a sailing event many years ago and it’s great to see pictures again – actually it’s great to see pictures of the whole area as I spent several weeks here in 2010! Lucky me – and thank you for your blogs.
