Back at it

Yes back to blogging after a little break and back to running long (slow, slow, slow)

This morning I snuck out of the house at rude-normal-work-time-rising-0’clock which was shear madness when its half term, but actually was the best time of the day for the weather. The sky was blue, the air was fresh (ok except for the occasional farmy smell) and no one else was out. I managed 10  miles my longest run since The Grizzly back in March, but with two half marathons entered in October I need to get out there. It was a pleasant run, half on road, half cross-country. The best part by far was running through the waist-high (on me) wheat field and getting drenched with the dew! Or maybe it was the smell in the woods of the bluebells.

Anyway that’s how it stands on the running, I am trying to get back at it!

On a non running front this past weekend was The Devon County Show. Which gave Madam and I chance to ooh and aah over all things cute and fluffy

and one that was once fluffy, but was still cute.

once fluffy

We spent a fair amount of time tasting samples, cheese, fudge and anything else we could lay our mitts on. Black cheese that got its colour from Charcoal was surprisingly nice and creamy and the Strawberry and Balsamic Vinegar Fudge was delicious!

Then there was stunt motorbike show

quite amazing but definitely not one to try at home. As ever a good day out.

We are hoping to get to parkrun this weekend, the question is do we go flat and fast, or hilly and tough?

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
