I ran

Yes readers you have read right, Sunday morning I ran. In fact I ran a whole two miles, sloooooowly. How did it feel? If I am honest it felt AWFUL. The achilles made its self known, the breathing was all over the place, (my lungs obviously in shock) my legs could not believe what was happening to them.

On the upside when I stopped I felt fine and the injury did not feel worse for the activity.

Monday I went back to the physio and he worked his magic. He confirmed that the laser is showing that the achilles is hurting (so glad it’s not in my mind)  and checked my heel lifts. Except that they are not heel lifts at all! Oh dear! They are heel pads used if you suffer from heel spurs! Ooops, how was I meant to know that?

He directed me to the ‘real thing’ on Amazon and after paying for express (read emergency) delivery they were with me yesterday.

Apparently these are going to make all the difference, I will let you know, for tonight I am back to club to join the beginers group!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
