Yesterday was my Mother’s Day a week later than everyone else’s in the UK, delayed to the much more important event of Madam’s 13th birthday and the absence of number 1 Madam.
Thankfully the weather was a lot warmer than the ‘real thing’. We headed to the South Devon coast for a walk. Place of choice- Babbacombe, where the scenery was lush
the walk was leisurely,
and the locals obviously heard the Madams were in the area
We spotted this nutter soaring above us, taking advantage of the breeze
Fortunately this time I had cash and we were able to take the Cliff train back up to the start, unlike last time when we had to walk and I was well down the list of favourite people with the family.
After lunch we headed to Torquay for a walk around the Marina and in to the nice art shop which is strangely enough right next to the typical seaside shop that sells ‘kiss me quick’ hats amongst other tat! In one shop paintings sell for almost £2000 and next door you can purchase unmentionables, so unmentionable in fact I cant mention them! Worth a visit though so I could hint heavily to hubby, about an upcoming birthday present. When I say hint it was more like ‘I would like’, subtle as a brick in the face its the only way to go!
It was a lovely day, great to think spring is on its way.
(Apologies to those of you who hit ‘follow’ thinking this was a blog about running, it is usually, but just not this one, normal service may resume shortly, well I hope so)
I’m curious to know which shop the hoped for birthday present was in: Art or unmentionable Tat?!
My thoughts exactly! 🙂
Great mum. Postponing your day so to celebrate hers.
I think I went to go on those cliff train things once but it was too windy or something
