Today as I am sure you are aware (well for those of you in the UK) is Mother’s Day, it is also Madam’s 13th birthday. We have never shared this day before and Madam was not particularly thrilled about doing so this year, especially when I told her today had to be all about ME! In the end I relented and we will celebrate my day next week when big Madam comes for a few days.
I was given the dangerous job of finding an activity to do in celebration of her transition in to teenagehood!
After much pouring over the internet (might have been an hour) I decided on Go Ape. For those of you not in the know, this is a tree top adventure, involving ropes, swing bridges, zip wires, harnesses, Tarzan swings and the like. OBVIOUSLY having only one good leg at the moment I did not hesitate in just stitching signing up Madam and hubby.
I was chief photographer which was a lot safer and preferable for me, here is some snaps of them monkeying around.
The only down side on the day was the weather it was freezing! In fact so cold that mini monkey could not feel her toes so the adventure was cut short in favour of a much needed hot chocolate at the café, that was only after I found the Gruffalo in the deep dark woods, with his knobbly knees!
That looks amazing! Love the Gruffalo – I read those stories to my Story Time children. Happy 13th Birthday to Madam and Happy Mother’s Day Shaz!
We love the Gruffalo books also. X
Awaiting a wenches and convicts blog BTW!
OH WOW! Firstly congrats again on Madams 13th!!! She looks so grown up and tall, and doing SOI WELL with her running that i would have put her at 15! GO K!
Go Ape looks like great fun, my son wanted to do it for his 14th here at Sherwood Pines… then it snowed and well, poor boys 14th was put on the back burner till the summer.
KEWL pics… pleased you guys had a FAB day… enjoy the visit of #1 madam xxx
I find those treetop courses absolutely terrifying from my vantage point on the ground. Good for the Madam and hubby for being so brave!
Good choice of activity☺️
And happy birthday to madam.
