The answer to so many questions is ‘NO’
- You been running?
- Are you going running?
- Running club tonight?
- Have you entered…………?
- You doing parkun this week?
Far too many ‘no’s, and it looks set to stay that way for a little (or long) while yet, with the diagnosis from the physio today that the rock (ok I am now claiming small boulder, along with compensation from someone) has torn my tendon. This is different from a normal tear (it just would be!) as not caused by running itself but by impact.
Running is everywhere, social media is full of PBs, running advice, running gear, running motivation, how to stretch before running, running fuel, running competitions, it is endless. To add salt in to the wound I saw my first ever advert on TV for New Balance. Grr.
Now all you lovely bloggers out there if you could all stop writing about training runs, fabulous races entered, parkruns, half marathons, marathons, cross training, race bling, personal bests I would appreciate it. In fact if you could all take up flower arranging that would be fantastic. Only for the next three weeks, that’s not too much to ask is it?
It sounds like you’ve run out of patience with your injury.
I have indeed.
Bless you HUNNY buns xxx argh how frustrating!!!!! Sending much love and tendon healing wishes!!! Xxx
you’re not alone Sharon, bus load of runners in Essex out of action, people bailing out of races left right and centre ….. gonna give flower arranging a miss BUT am thinking of joining that darts team 😉 am on an anti listen to any of this running b……….x anyways, if one more person says “it’s not on my plan” I’m going to hit them!
Oh Elaine you always cheer me up! Take it married life with a runner is a testing time ?!
Just a tad! The man who only looks at his trainers and gets injured has a latest “plan” which is to run once a week, moan like billeo, hop around house for half an hour then sleep for two …… and do you know the worst bit, he’ll probably get round with just doing that and might even get round in a decent time …… grrrrr!!!! Q. What’s worse than an injured runner? A. Living with one ….. !! lol Sharon unsubscribe to everything, join the WI and get stuck into making jam, by the time you’ve run out of goosberries you’ll be all healed. In the meantime live through Kate! xxx
Oh Elaine I love you! Off to buy gooseberries, twin set and some pearls! X
Ow, torn tendon sounds very sore. Did the physio say 3 months off?!
You could always finish your quilt! There is a never ending supply of quilting blogs out there to distract you from the running blogs (you just need to be ok with people having, then homeschooling 10 children) 😉
Funny you should say that but yes I have been quilting and started a new one (ssssh) as you know lots of ironing involved and I can stand for too long at the mo and who can iron sitting down? Will check out quilting blogging super mums or Pinterest just to distract myself !
Oooh, do share some photos of your quilt!
Check out Crazy Mom Quilts – on Fridays she has a thing where people put links to their own finished quilts – hundreds of blogs all in one place 🙂
Thanks I will do that. Will share big quilt in making soon after all have nothing else to write about!
Booo… Rubbish!
Not that I’m calling you a liar, understand… Just that the situation is rubbish. Heal well.
I’m just off to finish that shawl I’ve been working on…
I apologise in advance for the fact that I will be doing Reading Half marathon on the 22nd of march and will probably write about it…
if it helps, I intend to run a lot less after that and stick to my strengths…which is in fact strength training 🙂
Thanks for heads up will avoid your blog next week! Good luck
Thanks! I will need it!!
Oh this is not good for now, but this ‘now’ won’t last, you will get better. Big hugs from me x
nooooooo! so sorry to hear of your injury!
