31st January

Surely it must be the end of the month. Running everyday is doable but this blogging lark, well what can I say I am drying up. Its not too bad when I have an eventful run to write about, but today as I am resting for tomorrows 16 mile event, so eventful is not a word I would use to describe todays outing. Short-yes, two parter-yes, cold then warm-yes, freezing then sunny-yes, errand running-yes, slow trot-yes but definitely NOT eventful!

Slight trot to the shop before 7 am to pick up supplies. A run was needed to keep warm, trust me to choose the coldest day of the year to wash my winter coat, a walk back was needed as I bought way to much stuff. It was cold, frosty with crunchy grass, oh I love crunchy grass.

Part two was a trot to the post office at lunch time, by which time it was a lovely day, a run there needed due to being short of time, a walk back a necessity due to the elevation gain.

Total = 1 mile

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

    I had the same issue this this morning, keeping running to stay warm.

  2. Bloody blogging!!! It’s worse than the daily running…defo!

  3. Well done for sticking with it. My one attempt at Janathon did not result in nearly as much blogging as you have managed, so well done. And it is nearly the 31st. Sort of. If you squint a bit.

  4. Mmmm… That chocolate looks superimposed on the photo to me 😉

  5. All the best for the 16 mile event! I don’t know how you Janathoners do it – very hard to blog every day I’d say 🙂 Chocolate eating every day not so difficult 🙂

    But seriously, your blog title confused the hell out of me. I thought I’d lost several days then.

    I did Janathon last year. It was very difficult to come up with something worthwhile to write about everyday.
    As bloggers I think we use the word “I” too much already. But when the well is dry there isn’t much else to write about except how you feel about something.
    Janathon does instill some discipline, at least it did for me. Writing every day and not producing drivel was a challenge. Not sure I succeeded every day but I tried.
    Have you found a new voice or strengthened the one you had? Have you found new ways to write in order to meet the challenge?

      Oh I don’t think I write about something worth while every day and probably write drivel most days. But the competition is to write and fortunately does not dictate that is should be a masterpiece! For me the blog is a dairy of my life here in Devon and of course the running, so is hard not to be ‘I’ orientated. Some bloggers use their blogs to offer opinions/advice on things, I try not to do that for me its a diary and a way of informing friends and family on the events of my life, thus cutting the phone bill down
