Shortbread

Sunday being unable to join my running buddies for a 9.5 mile with an elevation gain of 1,200 ft,  (lucky escape) I decided to do the next best thing and drive to the start/end point with shortbread!

On arrival I had about 5 minutes to admire the amazing views and feel sad that I had not made it out with them, but the lungs were quite pleased.

I was  not there long till the duo arrived, declaring themselves knackered and in need of cake. Cake I could not offer, but shortbread yes, the calories it seemed were needed. Quick plans made for the next training session and I let them go home for their showers.

Last night I managed my first run in a week, it was with the club around another town and yet more Christmas lights. Oh boy the legs were made of jelly though and I was puffing like a steam train. It was great to be back out there though, finally but think its going to be a while for normal service to be resumed though.

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
