Yes last night I had the best run ever. Had I achieved the much sort after ‘runner’s flow’, did I ‘reach a feeling of mindless grace’ , or ‘run in dreamlike flow’ had I experienced running in the ‘zone’, had little old shaz nailed it? No don’t be so STUPID silly, no that particular miracle has yet to happen. But I did have the best run EVER.
Here is what made this run good.
- It was slow
- Not hilly by Devon standards
- It started off in the local cookshop that was open for late night shopping, here we partook of mince pies, chocolate brownie and mulled wine.
- From there we took the scenic route in search of Christmas lights, rating the displays out of ten. Those that had used a ladder gained a higher rating. One had points deducted for being a Manchester City supporter! My favourite was a family of penguins, very cute.
- Next was an impromptu Carol Singing at a club members house. We sang two verses of ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’ before they opened the door, the delay had been because they were searching for some change, their faces were a picture when they discovered it was only us!
Yes that was the best run EVER.
Now dear reader I am lagging behind in the First Annual Running Virtual UK blogging awards and like any race I enter, I don’t mind not winning, but I don’t want to come in last so please follow this link and place a tick next to Shazruns to get me out of relegation zone. Thanks
