Actively seeking my fitness level

Yes this week I have been looking for my fitness level…..

Saturday I thought I would find it at Killerton parkrun, but it remained elusive on that 5k, the PB I hoped to get refused to show itself staying hidden in the mud.

Sunday I gate crashed a friends run in the woods. It was a lovely run with great views, perfect weather, but after just 8.5 miles my legs had had enough.

Monday I looked for it on a club run round the local town, but no it failed to put in an appearance leaving me lagging behind those I am usually in front of.

Wednesday Madam and I did hills. Last time we did this we ran up and down together but no not this week, this week she had obviously had rocket fuel for lunch whereas I had only had a M&S egg sandwich. We ran like a funicular cliff railway, she would go up one side as I was going down the other and vice versa, usually I do 10 repeats of the hill, but this week I only managed 6. Her ladyship did one more than me.

This morning I did three miles with a fast second mile sandwiched by a gentle warm up and a gentler warm down. Now when I say fast I mean, as fast as I can go with a missing fitness level.

I can only assume that my fitness level stayed in Chelmsford, so those of you who live locally please keep an eye out for it and if spotted please send to Devon, reward offered.

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
