On returning from our holiday I discovered I had made the headlines in our local (ok its free) newspaper. In fact I guess it was good that I was away when it was published or I am sure the paparazzi would have been camped out on my doorstep. I am at present in negotiation with the local convenience store to arrange a newspaper signing session.
Trying so hard not to let it go to my head, but it is a struggle!
Talking of struggling, well that would be the best way to describe the running this week – a struggle!
Monday when I got out of bed, it occurred to me that my legs felt fine after the long run on Sunday, maybe I am getting fitter I thought. Huh, that was until I went for the club run, that was tough.
Tuesday I rested. By that I mean I did not run, but I did spend 4 hours in Plymouth shopping with Madam for school shoes and that is not exactly resting!
Wednesday, I decided that I needed to up my mid-week mileage so went to the meeting point for the club run early and did a couple of miles on my own first. It was a very humid night, I had not worn my vest, my stomach hurt and very few plodders turned up for club run. It was tough and by the time I got back to my car I was very grumpy and I would happily have not run again- ever.
Thursday- a miracle happened. I did a hill session with Madam. 10 times up the hill and down (Madam did 5). Considering my hatred for hills, my grumpiness with running the night before, it actually went quite well and the legs felt happier! Go figure. Mojo returned.
Tomorrow it’s up at stupid 0’clock, run to Killerton, do parkrun and get a lift home. Don’t think I will try for a PB! Must be time to taper soon, please.
School shoes shopping deserves a place in the olympics.
God you right there, oh and the negotiations needed should qualify me for a place on the UN
Awesome, let it get to your head, you’re famous now 🙂
can I have a signed copy please? 😉
Headline news, Ms Wells! Congrats to you!
