Blaise Castle 10K

This morning I did the Blaise Castle 10k. Granted it was not at Blaise Castle, not on the 2nd of August, not at 10 am, not across a tufty field, not with masses of other female runners, not with a pacer, not with a number on my shirt, not with a chip time BUT it was a 10k, it was me racing on my own, with only the Garmin for company on a flatish tarmac path.

Beyond thrilled with my time, who knew these little legs could go that fast? Lets hope they do so for the Exeter 10k in August, providing of course that I get the correct date/time/place!

Once I stopped grinning like a Cheshire Cat off we went to Canonteign Falls ‘Home to England’s highest waterfall, descending a staggering 220 ft’

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
