Transfer of pain

Off I set this morning to the doctors on Gloria to find out the results of last weeks x-ray. The good news is, its not arthritis, the bad news is we don’t really know what it is. Its a case of suck it and see, if it gets any worse go back. Funnily enough the foot had gotten better, either that or I am used to the discomfort, but this afternoon it decided to start aching again, its like it knows.

This evenings club run was a practice for next weeks woodland relay. 2.5 miles done twice so we made sure we knew the course. Its got down, its got up, its got rocks, its got fields with long grass, its got tree roots aplenty, fallen branches and deep rutted fields that will trip any tired runner, or maybe just me. Mile 4.9 my foot caught a rut and over I went, splat, I laid there for a while, before I asked my concerned companion had anyone seen me. I was assured not, but once we joined the others it was clear someone had seen my dive and informed everyone else. Nothing like publicity is there. Fortunately the Ron Hills were un damaged even though a little dirty

photo 1my arm however was both dirty and damaged, this picture does not convey enough how much it hurts, but believe me it really, really, really hurts. I would spray it with that stuff that I use on Madam when she hurts herself, the stuff that I tell her it does not sting and stop wining when I use it oh yes I would use that honest, but fear it might sting!

photo 3The good news is though, that with the throbbing of the arm, the foot seems all better! Sick note might be required for the rest of June.

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

Maybe your foot just need s break? Of the resting sort, of course. Have to say, my week of enforced rest in May did my feet the world of good.
