Just when I thought a club run could not throw up any more surprises, last night it did! There we were basking in a drier underfoot run, on a mild evening, when the cows on the other side of the field decided, they too wanted to run, but en mass – towards us! Not being the most agile of people, I amazed myself with how swiftly I got over the gate!
Look at the way they are staring at us!
Then I surprised myself by going up an extra hill, small mountain type mound to take in this view!
Today, I soaked my feet in my foot treatment Madam got me for my birthday, I scrubbed them, moisturised them and cut the nails (not an easy procedure believe me), my nails have recently taken on the look of a 40 a day smoker, an attractive yellow tinge, due to the club bog runs. Why all the pampering? Hot date? Night on the town? No a doctor’s appointment. Time to show her my feet and not wanting to gross her out totally I needed to do the prep work.
She touched (with gloves!), poked (ouch) and prodded, on top, underneath, manipulated and pulled. The verdict? Well yes it is probably arthritis (still not sure how I feel about this, does this mean a put up and shut up type scenario?) but let’s get an x-ray and check what is happening. Lets not go to an orthopaedic surgeon as they like to operate! Oh I like this doctor!
I also had a very similar cow experience! It does make you run just that little bit faster!!!
Oh yes true, with the added steeplechase!
Oh my! That’s a bit of an adventure! Hope you’re able to get some kind of treatment for your feet.
Fingers and toes crossed on the feet front. I wonder what was going through those cows’ minds? Something they herd about runners perhaps.
Very good Tezza, your wit is as quick as your running!
Love your cow photo. Cows are very curious creatures, I’m sure they just wanted to check you all out. Hope the results of the xray are good!!!
Now that’s fine for you to say over there in your dairy farm! X-ray won’t happen for weeks yet will keep you posted.
🙂
Beware the cows in the fields around slapton sands – the cows tend to be speedy types around there too!
I frequently wonder if we’d be better off not knowing all that’s going wrong with us! Good luck with the foot investigations and well done to your girl with her thoughtful gift!
Been a busy couple of weeks and only just catching up on my reading. So this was the cow incident you mentioned! Well done for getting out of their way. Retreat is never glorious, but they certainly look a lot less dangerous from the other side of a fence!
Did you see about cow attack on Lizard? This has not helped my new cow fear! Am going to practice some fence jumping to be safe!
