What a difference a day makes!

This morning Madam and I ventured in to Exeter to do some Sale shopping, this in itself should be counted as a Janathon activity, anyone who has shopped with an 11 year old female will know this. Throw in to the mix a shop that requires you to don a head lamp to be able to see anything, also in this retail outlet the wearing of a gas mask is mandatory if you want to be able to breathe non perfumed air, that coupled with my frequent cries of ‘HOW MUCH’ every time I was told the price of something made for a heart rate increasing time. By the time we surfaced I needed to prop myself up outside the shop gasping for air, spluttering much like I do after a run! Thank you America for sending this store to the UK my life would not be complete without it! (My bank account would be though!)

Did I use this as my Janathon activity? Of course not.

When we got home I did a repeat of yesterdays run, someone had clearly pulled the plug out, as the puddles were a lot shallower.

Fact clear clean water is just as cold as muddy murky water! Who knew?

The blue sky here is not going to last, so glad I made the most of it looks like that is it till February!today2

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

Yikes! What a lot of water. With the new weather warnings about rain in the southwest you may have more comparison photos to share for a while yet.

Same lousy weather here. Same lousy sales. 😦

  3. plustenner says:

wow! you didn’t run through that did you?

  4. The puddle (puddle?! Flood!) reminds me of the chocolate river from Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory!

    Looks like fun lol

I’m not sure which is worse – cold puddles or sales. *shudders*

  7. I think Janathon may be a very wet won!

  8. If you’re lucky that puddle might be gone by February the 1st.

  9. Not a big fan of that store either nor of shopping in general. I would totally think it qualifies for a Janathon activity but I am glad you got to get out and stretch the legs out.

  10. Reading this & realising we must have been in Exeter at the same time!! Was there with my 9 year old son, thank goodness we didn’t venture into said shop! Hoping the weather dies down soon, here in Bude we have got away with it so far…although high tide again later. Great running in such conditions 🙂

  11. If it’s the one I think it is, Mrs RB and I went in there once. We got lost and couldn’t find our way out again in the gloom. Never again. It was a terrible experience!

Well done with the Janathon running, despite the weather.

Without you even naming the shop, I know EXACTLY which one you mean. They keep the lights off so that you don’t see the price until you get to the till! Matt and I always make that comment as we pass it 🙂
