Back to creating

Before Madam came on the scene, I used to be crafty, making clothes for the big Madams, making Christmas cards, doing cross stitch, but that all stopped when herself arrived. I just got out of the habit, but now am trying to get back in to it.

Whilst reading a craft magazine recently I saw the perfect thing to get me back in to creating:- The Old School Club  located in SW11 have a Worker Bee Box that if you subscribe (very reasonable fee) they will send you out a kit monthly.

I was very excited to receive my first box today

DSCN3654not so excited when I opened it

DSCN3655oh dear one thing I don’t do is-KNIT oh ****** and I am meant to make these!!!…..

DSCN3656Cute yes, fab colour yes, great for running yes, possible for me to do NO. As I see it I have several options

  1. Cancel my subscription
  2. Return box to sender
  3. Follow the instructions and help on their website (yeah right)
  4. Take to my Mum’s tomorrow and ask for her help
  5. Take to my Mum’s tomorrow and leave with her to do!
  6. Post to Paige in USA, knitter and blogger extraordinaire, bet she could knit these up in a flash

Lets hope the next box is something I can do!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

I do knit-or, at least I used to. But I`d pass on these gloves too. You could always make a beanie out of the wool of course. You`d get more wear out of a beanie running than you would out of fingerless gloves.

Beanie sounds good if only I could knit! Would u like to make it for me?!

      • Red Hen says:

Haha! You haven`t been following the fate of my aran jumper last year. Yep, I blogged -and bragged-about it. But the half finished back has languished in my knitting basket ever since and I fear your red wool would have a very similar fate!
That said, I did go through a beret knitting phase two years ago so, you`d never know, the beanie genie might be coming my way, and if she is, I`ll count you in.

      • shazruns says:

Fingers crossed the genie returns then or my wool is destined to languish under my bed!

    Can’t wait!!

    • Diana says:

Mavis, THIS was my vote, “take to Mum’s and leave it with her”!!! You’ll probably have it whipped up and finished BEFORE Sharon heads home! YOU are so talented!!!! xoxo

  3. paigesato says:

use the yarn for a beanie and PDF me the pattern–I’ll whip you up a pair (not joking at all! LOVE making fingerless mitts!)
