Yesterday morning the wind was blowing hard, in fact the flags at the construction site were at right angles as I headed out for a 3 mile run. It was mild though and I was grateful for the Devon lanes with their high sided hedges that offered protection from the elements. Oh and it felt good to run again after taking some time out after my last half marathon. Boosted on by this I did an interval session with Chrissie Wellington this morning, (not so enjoybale but is it meant to be?) it was so mild, I returned home and told Madam not to take a coat to school, usually I am forcing one on her as she goes out the door. Long may this mild, windy dry weather continue.
Last week, Madam’s school letter informed us of a Dessert bake-off at the local nursery, with the school competing against the nursery (plant not child). Having a sweet tooth the size of Everest I could not pass up the chance to watch this competition, especially as there was going to be chance to eat each of the 4 desserts at the end of it. Madam and I enjoyed watching the chefs old and young create their sweet things. Ginger Cheesecake, Strawberry Tarts, Blush Meringues and Black Cherry Chocolate Surprise
The Ginger Cheesecake was not our favourite, but we demolished the others. Looks like its long run day for me tomorrow.
