This week I am working one day (oh the joy of flexi!) and I will probably run as often as that also! A weeek off all round. Hooray. Why? Overseas visitor.
Yesterday the sun was out and the sky was blue with some cloud so we headed to Salcombe. As we got nearer so the cloud drew in and the hills disappeared. After an altercation with the pay and display machine, where it ate my money which resulted in me being on hold to South Hams Council for 12 minutes during which time I managed to visit the ladies-multi-tasking at its finest, we headed to the ferry to take us across to South Sands, where we could walk up to Overbecks a National Trust property with a garden worth visiting. (Incredibly long sentence, sorry)
Of course on arrival it started to pour! Clearly this was a sign to go in doors to eat. We joined the garden tour under a big umbrella and heard about all the plants that grow well there but technically they shouldn’t, but they are aided by the micro climate and the soil conditions, provided by the rock that ebales excellent drainage.
Now I am sure the view is lovely but not today
but we did get a glimpse of its greatness
maybe next time! Love the British weather oh and the BBC weather APP that did not mention rain at ALL.
