Weekend

Saturday

It was a good day. I ran a solo parkrun as Madam had had a sleep over in the week so needed to catch up on some sleep, getting up at 6:30 am for breakfast was NOT an option after having 3 hours sleep the night before! What made it a good day? I got a PB. Nothing like a parkrun PB to set you up for the day is there?

  • Not only did I get a PB but I beat Madam’s PB by a whole 12 seconds!
  • Not only did I get a PB but I beat my Finsbury parkrun (my first) time by a whole 38 seconds set 2 and half years ago!!
  • Not only did I get I PB but I got a Killerton parkrun PB by a whole 49 seconds!!!

Get the impression I was pleased? Well I was. Seems nasty interval training is working.

We went out in the evening to here

pub

to celebrate. (no I was not THAT pleased we were going out anyway!)

Sunday

The day of the long run. Venue-Great Western Union Canal. Time-early but daylight. I worked hard for the 10 miles, spurred on by yesterdays success and managed to have a good run. Not within the time limit that the training plan requires but I am not Mo Farah, what do these people want?

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

Tivvy Canal looks good today! And well done on your PB – that’s like the PB of ALL PBs!

Well done on your PB, although I bet Madam was less pleased than you were with it! 😉

  3. Congratulations on your PB!! I’m liking the look of The Highwayman’s Haunt – it’s like one of those country houses you get on the lid of old tin chocolate boxes 🙂

That`s a PB by a great margin. Fantastic! Thanks for inspiring me to do parkruns. They`re wonderful.
Lovely pics-all so typically British. I expect King Henry(any of them) to come around the corner there any second.
