Plans

This week I gave myself a stern talking to (the only person I listen to, lets be honest) about the running and getting down to some serious training for possibly three half marathons in the autumn.

I researched, I found a plan (will be posted here eventually).

Week One (not strictly to plan)

Monday-rest-done

Tuesday-Intervals-done

Wednesday-rest-done

Thursday-3m-not managed this

Friday-Rest-but did walk 3 miles up hills so covering Thursdays run, right?

Saturday-3m

Sunday-6m

I am working on the theory that plans are meant to be flexible!

Tomorrows 3 miles will not now be a parkrun with two madams as planned (big madam breathing a huge sigh of relief) as hubby has free tickets to the Yeovilton Air Show, so an early rise is in store for me to get 3 miles in before a hot day looking skywards.

Today I dragged big Madam on a walk from Branscombe to Beer scenery lovely as ever, as was the ice cream we ate in Beer!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

Enjoy your early morning run! Think of me at around 9.20, baking in the exposed bit of Killerton 🙂

    • shazruns says:

Don’t think you managed pr and don’t blame you it was a scorcher-maybe we will both manage it next week?

      • Tubontherun says:

To be honest, it was so hot in Exmouth early on that I decided not to go. I’m not about for the next few weeks. Back on the 10th, volunteering as “random marshal” and running the week after that

Random is good! Can’t promise to be there on 10th as during our hols although we are not going away, can’t bare to eave Devon!

      • Tubontherun says:

I plan to be running on 17th. I am also hoping for slightly cooler temperatures overnight and in the early morning (it can hit 30 by all means, but not until after lunch!).

I love the heat. But it`s playing hell with my running. Hal Higdon has good half marathon plans, by the way.

  3. Flexibility in training plans is good. The rest day and the speed day have been to the letter… But my ‘undulating run’ was ‘four hours of tennis’ today and the order is completely to pot.
    Long live flexibility.

So looking forward to seeing you at Cardiff! I’m bricking it about my training – I did my 1st run in 2 weeks yesterday, can you give me a stern talking too as well please?
