Originally I wanted to walk from Branscombe to Beer today to have lunch as hubby’s Father’s Day treat. Admittedly this is more my idea of a treat than his, but hey I was the organiser for this family trip. However with rain, rain and more rain in the forecast the plan was changed to one with less walking and in the dry.
We started off the day here
which was very interesting if at times a little cramped!
this pic shows Father and daughter standing upright but this was not always the case on the tour, even I had to bend down! Hubby braved this crawl space
while madam opted for the upright route and I of course needed to supervise her! Phew. If you ever find yourself in Exeter, this is well worth the visit. Amazing to think what is under your feet as you shop in the High Street.
Next stop lunch here in Beer
By the time we got home I really did not want to run, it is very tiring being a Mother on Father’s Day I will have you know. In the end dragged myself out, I ran to the shop for some stamps, then continued round the football field acting as a crow scarer or scarecrow I am not sure which, but certainly felt like I was in an Alfred Hitchcock movie when they all took off! 2 miles done.
Been ages since a long run I really need to sort that next weekend.
I would have had a small heart attack at the Birds-esque lift off. I HATE that film. Love Beer though – many fond memories of going to Pecorama as a child.
My dad lives in Exeter, I’ll have to ask him about that restaurant – love sea food!
That little cramped space looks scary.
I totally envisioned you running around like a scarecrow or crow scarer! Thanks for the giggle. I’m with you on trying to get back in for a long run. Maybe next weekend we will get the long run and next week will be consistently running! 🙂
So how come you’re always doing loads of really interesting stuff down there? inbetween lots of eating and drinking out? AND getting a run in a day! maybe the days are longer down south?
