Running a triangle round a circle

This is a map of todays run courtesy of Mrs Garmin

The red triangle is clear to see and is the route I ran, the circle you can see is a circle of stones that look like this from the ground…

I was on my way from Essex back to Devon and decided this would be a good place to stop, killing two birds with one stone (get it?), I would need a break and could stretch my legs by running and also fulfill my Juneathon commitment as knew I would not feel like it when I got home after the 4 hour drive.

The triangle was 1.5 miles, the bit along the A303 was a bit hairy! Dodging the tourists on the path was tricky too as was not running them over whilst trying to leave the car park.

I think there should be a Juneathon award for the run completed in the most historic location, of course I expect to win!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

Wow – running along the A303 – very brave! Well done! It’s amazing just how fast cars go when you’re a pedestrian. We went out for a walk last week, and did half a mile on the A28 which is a 50 limit, but the speed the cars went past I was worried we’d end up on one of those A&E TV programmes!

Definitely the award for the most historic site for a run 🙂 Got me thinking though -maybe I should go for a run around Avebury …
