Rest from work. Rest from fence construction. Rest from housework. Rest from running. Hooray.
With my own home grown Rhubarb, I did make this Sour Cream Rhubarb Pie which is delicious
the two eldest madams like it and they don’t even like Rhubarb! Promise to post recipe tomorrow.
Having kept a close eye on BBC weather, we knew the best part of the day was going to be the morning. After our weekly trip to the recycling centre to deposit one dead Silver Birch tree, we headed out to Grand Western Canal at Tiverton.
We watched the horse, Taffy, getting tethered up and then pull the barge.
We walked a Mile along the Canal to the Mile Marker! Once many years ago that was a 1 on it!
We read that this bridge (Tidcombe Bridge) had to be built where it is, as the Bishop of Exeter refused to let the Canal pass with 100 yards of his home! This causes the Canal to loop a bit.
The Canal is going to be the venue of my next long run! I can’t wait. I will take mt camera and start the other end which is nearer to home.
Lovely pics and yes, post that pie recipe please! We run in very similar settings, you and I.Though mine are slower than yours!
I
I doubt very much if I am quicker! It would be lovely to run together one day! Just some water and land to cross that’s all!
Stranger things have happened!
Please please please post the recipe for the rhubarb pie!!!
I love the Great Western Canal. There’s a really nice pub at Sampford Peverell (can’t remember its name though). While not recommended for a mid-run drink, it’s definitely worth a walk down.
Is it The Globe? Hubby stayed there whilst waiting for our house to sell, food was good. I will definitely start at SP and run to Tiverton to cut down on travelling!
Hmm… could be. I think there is only the one pub in SP, so that is likely to be it.
I don’t want the recipe, just the pie 🙂 will come and collect! xx
great photos as always xx
