Killerton results have just been published.

Madam came 7 th out of 40 runners and an amazing 3rd in her age category and seeing as that’s Under20 and she is only 11 I think that is pretty good.

Not only did she do well but managed to have a nice picture official photograph taken something that eludes lots of us. (Right red hen?)

Look at her fly. Oh for legs like that! Yes Grandma she got a medal.

medal2Think you might approve!

Not bad for someone who really did not want to run that day is it? She learnt the lesson we all learn ‘you never regret going out for a run, you frequently regret not going for one’.

My results are not as impressive but not bad for an old girl. I came 110 out of 189 runners and 15th in my age (I am at the top end of the range!). Quite pleased really as this was the toughest course I have ever done and really thought I was at the back!

Special mention must however go to my Essex running buddy who after doing VLM in an impressive time just three weeks later she did the Essex marathon equally as impressively. She came first in her age category-old biddies (her words not mine), third female V45 AND her team got silver. Truly amazing. here are her winnings.

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

  4. Congrats to your little girl! I am always more impressed with how my daughter Wow’s me than things I actually accomplish. Maybe it is because I feel so much apart of her accomplishments too. Great work on your accomplishment too. So true about regretting the ones we don’t run!

  5. Well done, both of you!
