Not Over the hill yet BUT nearly at the top!!

Today I took a step nearer to the big 50!

I have known hubby for 14 years but this year he decided by birthday was on the 5th not 3rd of May so really came to a complete shock to him when he suggested a meal out, that I would want that to do that on Friday not Sunday. Not known for his organisation skills this also meant going shopping for my present tonight because of course he thought he still had the weekend to sort this!  However I am completely happy to be like the Queen and have two birthdays!

In honour of this occasion I took the day off work, made the most of the sunshine and walked from Branscombe to Beer. Apologies to notmuchofarunner who will undoubtedly suffer more west country envy when he sees todays photos.

Had many lovely presents and cards for my birthday. ( Had an email with birthday greetngs from confused.com, who knew they cared?!)

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
