Let the taper begin

Madam, her friend and I set off to Miniature Pony World today in Dartmoor.

The journey which is less than an hour was eventful with her friend being car sick in to my SAT NAV box! Not a great start to the day.

DSCN2244 DSCN2245 DSCN2248Saw this mini miniature pony just born on 4th April very cute.

DSCN2255Saw this beauty (Typical man showing off!)

My favourite was this though DSCN2257 soft and dozey.

The journey home was eventful too as met a car on a very narrow Devon lane coming in the opposite direction, it was tricky passing each other and I felt bad for the occupants of the other car who greeted me with ‘Is this a road?’ to which I replied ‘Welcome to Devon’, at a guess they were North Americans and had never experienced a highway like it!

Tonight’s run was a tempo 4 miles or so the plan said, I went out in the rain, this turned to sun and a nice evening and I even managed negative splits, that is my last hard session before the marathon so really in to Taper Time now, hooray.

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

I’m hoping for dry and at least double figures for London 🙂 Sick of frozen muscles on long runs

I have to agree with you – the donkey’s my favourite too! He looks a bit like Eeyore 🙂
