PB times 2

It’s Saturday so that means Killerton parkrun. There was a huge turnout over 100, this impacted on start time due to the trouble people were having getting parked. It was very cold standing around so madam and I did some warm up jogs. Before we started the parkrun director told us two of the regular runners are getting married tomorrow. Aaaaaaahhh. He then got them to go to the front where they were presented with a top hat for the groom on a hair band and a veil for the bride. The bride was made to start at the front and the groom given instructions to retire to the back and to catch his bride!
We set off about 15 minutes late and the course was as hard as ever. This is a map of it courtesy of Mrs Garmin.

Madam disappeared in to the distance, but I caught up with her at about 2.5 miles. She was running well but did opt to walk up a bit of last hill having said that her walking pace was as fast as my running pace! Once she caught her breath she was off and I plodded after her!
Mrs Garmin told me I got a PB and that mile 1 was fast and mile 2 and 3 very equally paced which I find amazing given how I felt on that last lap.
Very pleased to find out that madam also got a PB her first one, so not only did she beat her time but she beat the time she got on the original easier Killerton course. A real boost for her. Two more weeks and we go back to the Killerton house venue. Hooray.
I leave you with a picture of what I would like to do (sit in the sun that is but maybe not in the doorway on the door mat!)

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
