Organisation skills-zero

I completely forgot that tonight was competition night for madam at Harriers until we were on our way there. Fortunately I had the extra money on me to pay, but that was more by luck than judgement. Last week I knew this was on but between then and now it completely slipped my mind, that’s the trouble with marathon training it takes over your life and makes you a useless disorganised mother!

We checked the schedule for what she could enter as a U13 girl. She wanted to do the 600m but this was not on for another one and a half hours, so useless disorganised mother vetoed this as I did not fancy being a frozen uselss disorganised mother. She settled on 60m hurdles, 75m hurdles and 60m sprint. I was very impressed with the way she lept over the hurdles having never seem her do this before. Madam did well considering she is just 11 and the other girls looked like they were older and more experienced. She enjoyed herself and it certainly gave her a taste of what to do next month, providing of course her useless disorganised mother remembers!

I am off to see when I am now going to fit in the run that I missed doing tonight, but I have just read an article on twice a day training which might be something I consider doing this week!

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

    Lol, I have to write EVERYTHING down, even then I forget. You have just reminded me to look in my diary & I realised I am out tomorrow night and had completely forgotten!

    Why can’t we just live in blog land?

    And there I was thinking that twice a day training was only for lazy people like me who keep postponing runs and needing to play catchup 🙂
