Today I have had to say farewell to my running buddy.
We have shared a lot together.
Lots of up and downs, highs and lows.
He has been there with me every step of the way the past three years.
Sometimes he’s sulked and preferred to stay home, but mostly he co-operated and accompanied me on my runs, long, short, slow, fast, early, late, wet, dry, cold, hot, rainy, windy, sunny, snowy, sleety, until this week when he refused to turn on unless plugged to the mains.
It was time to say Goodbye to Mr Garmin.
And Hello to Mrs Garmin

Should have run 5 miles easy today but didn’t it was cold, wet, miserable and I am saving myself for tomorrow’s fun filled 18 miles. Can’t wait!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

  4. You don’t want to scare Mrs garmin by doing to much on your first run anyway.
    Enjoy πŸ™‚

  5. How do you like your new Garmin? I’m looking to get one since I now have a Nike+ and it is just not accurately tracking my miles/distance. I need something much more dependable and accurate. How does your Garmin stack up?

I love Mrs Garmin (forerunner 10) I in particular I love the stats she gives me when I upload the exercise to the web. I also like that t the end of each run it tells me, my fastest mile and if I eat any records. Previous I had forerunner 205 a bulkier version, with not as great visuals when uploaded but did tell me my pace overall as well as current pace whereas Mrs Garmin will not ( not that i have found out) overall forerunner 10 worth the money. Happy Garmin hunting!
