Mother’s Day

Todays blog was going to be ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ to my Mum (who is the Best Mum in the World’ by the way) and then I was going to tell you about the day with my Madams.

However the day did not go as planned but incidentally my Mum is still the ‘Best Mum in the World’!

It started off so well with me actually sleeping in till 7:45 am which is amazing. I was then presented with thismenuI actually was tempted by the Battenberg on the cover but opted for toast with Marmite, tea and a banana. It looked like this brekkie

the heart shapes are big Madam’s contribution and is something she always used to make me for Mother’s Day breakfast back in the day before she was too young to use the toaster! (Now at almost 22 years I still dont think I would trust her with one!) It was lovely to be spoilt.

Got some lovely pressies flowers, Battenberg, wine gums, photo frame, soap and this book book so I guess I can’t retire yet!

Then the day went terribly pear-shaped. Madam went out to feed her rabbit only to find it dead. Not a good scene. She was devastated, we have only had Bambi since mid December and it was her friend and was such a lovely rabbit chasing her around the house and sleeping on the couch. As her Mum I wanted to make it all better but I couldn’t I felt so lost. Hugging and comforting was all I could do.  The Asics shoe box came in handy and we gave her a burial in the garden. Three sobbing females said our goodbyes.

To take our mind off things we went to Sidmouth to have a walk along the sea front and ended up stopping for hot chocolate and cake. This was mine

cakecoffee walnut cake my favourite! Unfortunately no one could finish theirs, having stomachs that were not happy.

Not the best Mother’s Day but I was lucky enough to spend it with the Madams and of course I am lucky enough to have the ‘Best Mum in the World’ to whom I wish to send my love and thanks. XXXXXX

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
