Long, cold, icy.

I was dismayed at 6 am to see the frost on the ground and the thermometer reading only slightly above zero, I pulled out my long sleeve top and when my breakfast had gone down I headed out the door.

Not much to report really it was long, I was slow, amazingly the hills did not seem so bad to-day so that’s an improvement I guess. It must have been cold as I kept my jacket on the whole time and my hand never seemed to get warm. Still thinking of applying to be on Dancing on Ice as my performance on icy patches just gets better and better and this morning there was lots of time to practice! Snack of choice was two energy bars and amazed to say I managed to eat and run and wipe my nose all at the same time (multi-tasking at its best!) and my stomach did not complain, off to get more of those this week.

Nearly home I ran past these beauties who in unison replied to my cheery ‘hello’ with a resounding ‘Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa’

Nice way to end not a bad long run.

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
