I was so pleased to be joined at Killerton Parkrun by Louise, parkrunner tourist and ULTRA MARATHONER! (Madam stil recovering from 2a 4 hour bug so left at home)
We ran separately (she was meant to be ‘pootling round’ as she has Bideford half marathon tomorrow) I went the same strategy as my Slay the Dragon run that is go as fast as you can on the way down to make up for the slow hills. Lap three, hill three took its toll and the lovely Lousie appeared at my shoulder and offered to carry me (least thats what I thought she said) I graciuosly declined her kind offer not wanting to break her back but did try and cling to her side instead. Gracious as ever she let me cross the line in front of her! (If that was pootling I would HATE to run with her going flat out.)
After a quick chat with the other runners we headed back to Exeter to Giselle’s sister’s for tea and cake and a quick catch up before I headed home leaving them to their day and pre half marathon preparations.
Pleased to say got a PB today!
Good luck to my bloggy friends with their 13.1 miles tomorrw.
