Advice

After a day where work wise I ended up behind where I started at the beginning of the day I knew I had to get out, unfortunately ‘women on the run’ was cancelled due to bad conditions, it had snowed most of the day and although this had not settled it had left a slippery film on the pavements. To run would have been suicidal. Instead madam and I walked to the shop (coercion or maybe it was bribery might have occurred to get her to join me), I broke the news to her on the way that it was January and that meant we had to jog for a little while. We did for .25 a mile.

On the way home Madam had some advice for me “when you do the marathon if you have to walk for a bit it doesn’t matter, as long as you finish that’s all that counts, the time does not matter, just finish” Sometimes I have to remind both of us that I am the Mum, this time I thanked her for her words of wisdom, lets hope on 21 April I remember that!!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
