At 4 a.m it was pouring with rain, I know this as it woke me up.
At 4.45 a.m it was still pouring, I know this as the cat got me up as he wanted to go out in it!
At 6.50 a.m it was still pouring, I know this as madam got up and I could hear it against the conservatory roof.
With eyes still shut I called out to madam “we can’t do parkrun today its been pouring for three hours” thought it best to get the bad news over and done with, suffice today that ‘mother of the year award’ has slipped out of my grasp yet again! I was glad I had made the decision despite the way it was received, last weeks mud was bad enough but to run in that rain would have been miserable. Next week madam, next week.
My run yet again was 1 mile around the village, it was going to be longer honest except the train came in to the station and there is no way I was going to wait for the level crossing to go up, it was cold and takes forever to lift. It is one of those stations you have to be at the front of the train to get off as the train is longer than the platform.
In case you think I am exaggerating the rain here is a picture of the flooding down the road
Am pretty sure Noah lives locally, just got to hope he has almost finished that Ark, I have had enough of this rain.
Looks soggy! 😉
Hope the rain stops soon!
Squelch.
am listening to the rain coming down at the moment and thinking of abradypus’ 14 and my 12 mile run tomorrow on Wimbledon Common – squelch indeed!
Good call on not running (/swimming) in that!
