Scraping the barrel

Day 7 of January and Janathon saw me return to work aaahhhh.

The adventure was going to work or more accurately getting out of bed and making it to work on time. I had to go to Brixham to-day which runtontorun in NZ will be thrilled to hear as she’s been there and run there. It was my plan to run there also but the sun stayed well hidden all day, the mist was down and it was cold by the time work was over.

Instead I headed to Tesco in Exeter for the dreaded weekly shop. I found a secluded part of the car park, put the car seat back and stripped off and changed in to my running kit. (Maybe this is the adventure!) (No ctv cameras I checked not wanting to appear on the local news) I ran .5 a mile turned around and ran the same back. Oh the joy of only one mile! Maybe this is how Roger Banister felt!

Treasure? I give you a purple bin…..

bin

with the return to work it will only get worse!

PS Yesterdays shazruns blog was linked to on walkjogrun’s facebook and twitter! Remember you knew me before I got famous!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!
