Not much running!

Actually that should probably read very little running!
Yep plenty!

Main one being hubby working away from home a lot which makes early morning runs hard unless I want madam to call Childline! Of course I have many other excuses but this one I feel is the most plausible!

So if I have not been running what have I been doing?
Well there is work, sleep, work, sleep etc etc oh and it was my dad’s 80 th birthday in the middle of September and I made him this cake:-

If you look closely you will see an athletic track around the outside of the cake and these little fellers were ‘race walking’ around it!

By far my favourite creation yet, though have to admit at one point was wishing dad had been a paralympian not an Olympian as their logo is far easier to create in icing.

So the VLM marathon packs are hitting the door mats of the mad running public, mine is not here yet, but I should get a place. Now the question is if I don’t get a place do I make a fuss and demand I get one under the 6 times a reject rule or do I thank my lucky stars and remain mute? After all who has heard of training for a marathon by running every other week? Mmm watch this space!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

Wow! If it tasted even half as good as it looks it must have been delicious.

Oh well that look AMAZING! And having tasted some of your cake before I am salivating! You’ll get in – fingers crossed I get a place through my club so we can be virtual training partners…

Mum says the cake was marvellous and it was a pity to cut but we have some wonderful photos to remind us of a lovely cake and a lovely day. This old girl is too old to run unfortunately but she can walk a bit with the old boy!!!
