This morning Madam and I headed in to London to get the tail end of The Big Egg Hunt. I have enjoyed reading about Zoe’s egg hunting expeditions and had planned a little hunt for ourselves, however when I heard the eggs would all be in one location (Covent garden) I knew this would be better for Madam rather than traipsing over London.

After an eventful journey-car accident outside Newbury Park Station and station closure at Holborn due to someone falling in front of tube this meant getting off tube at Chancery Lane and finding our way (thank god for Google maps and Iphone!)- we arrived at 9.30 which was great as we managed to see the eggs before the crowds. We loved it and had a great time discovering them all. 210 in total but I reckon we saw approx 190, some I think had been vandalised and were not on display. Here is a small taster:-

We purchased an Ispy book so we could mark them off and went round a few times just in case we missed any.

This one is my favourite:-

Special mention has to go to The Alpha Egg of London I was thrilled to find that M was for Marathon:-

This is now the background on my Iphone in case I forget ‘I’m a Marathoner!’

We had such a nice time (thanks goes to Zoe for without her blogging about this I would never have known about it) and were home in time for lunch which was just as well as Madam has come down with a temperature.

I managed the last run of week 13 not my favourite training session-hills 10 times up and down, but legs felt good considering the 20 miles they travelled yesterday.

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

Sounds fun. And much easier than traipsing all over London.

  3. I love the post box egg 🙂
Being a London runner, it was really nice to have the eggs dotted around some of my regular running spots over the last couple of months. I’ll really miss them!

Oh i LOVE the post box egg it’s fabulous. What a great shame some of them weren’t there due to being vandalised.
