Another reason to run before sun up

My original list goes as follows:-

  • Gets it out-of-the-way
  • Few traffic/dog walkers/runners/cyclists about to get in the way
  • Gets it done before procrastination sets in
  • Nothing can crop up to cause me not to run (except maybe for a bad nights sleep)
  • Does not encroach on family (they are too busy sleeping)

After this morning I can now add

  • Can run with capris in side out and on discovery of this am not mortified at all as am sure no-one noticed due to the fact the world was asleep except for me.

The dreaded plan called for 1 m jog, 2 miles in 16 minutes (must be a typo surely?) 1 mile jog.

The dreaded run resembled this:- 1 mile jog, 2 miles 18 minutes (wow) collapse gasping for breath on someones wall, 1 mile stagger/walk home.

Tomorrows run looks complicated and may have to run in km! Wonder if that will make me faster?

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

What with Flo going commando and you going inside out there seems to be an epidemic of wardrobe malfunctions. Memo to self: be extra vigilant in case things really do come in threes! Great pace, btw.

    Great running.
I wish I could make myself run at that time for all your reasons including wardrobe malfunctions! Unfortunately I can only wobble as far as the coffee machine at that time in the morning.

Capris inside out is soo the new fashion. You are in good company of fashionable runners! 🙂

Great list of reasons for predawn running– useful to be reminded of them at this time of year, though not sure capris will ever be an issue pour moi!

Wow. just as well you ran before the sun was up then. But well done on the 18mins. x

We have all done it – worn our clothes inside out – well done for admitting it – great blog

Correction: “… due to the fact the world was asleep except for me” should read ” due to the fact the world was asleep, INCLUDING me.” You did put inside-out pants on, after all 🙂

So glad you left some notes on my blog today! I had read back before Janathon started that you would not be doing it… so I stupidly assumed you wouldn’t blog much, not realizing you had so many other interesting things going on! Today, I backread your posts & saw your list of reasons why you had declined to do Janathon, then reconsidered a bit & continued blogging all sorts of wonderful things! I should have checked back sooner!
