Yesterday I got a text from a mum at school who has just signed up for a half marathon to ask what time I was doing my long run today. Was very excited about the prospect of having company for my run, so gave her a sensible start time so as not to scare her off!
We met at 8 am and set off for 7 miles. She had not run this far before but has better speed than me as less wind resistance! It was lovely to have company, we managed to keep chatting most of the way although feel I was more breathless but not in a Harry met Sally kind of way-fortunately!
We made it to the 7 a little way from home so walked a bit after stopping the garmins. Both thrilled with pace of 9.53! Do hope she can come out again next week for 8 miles!
I am now in Swindon in a hotel with no free wifi so this is being written on iPhone. Apologies for typos will edit tomorrow!
Have loved reading all blogs re Regents park meet up and run. Well
Done to you all

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

OOOOh I always think it makes runs easier if you have good company so that’s great news!
