PI

Let me introduce myself. Sam Snoop here Private Detective I have been hired by Cathy to check up on Juneathoners and their activities, to ensure rule following and accurate blogging.

Over the past 20 days I have witnessed many strange events all in the name of Juneathon and a good blog. These have included swimming the channel,                    triathlon participation, supermarket dashing, stiletto running, bouncy castling,         bumping downstairs on your bum, walking in the rain, canal running, weekly park running, exclusive gym going, gaining a PB, running on the Isle of Wightdoing yoga , doing       Jillian Michaels, doing an ironing mountain, Supermarket Slimnastics, 2 exercise classes in one day, ice cream making I have been VERY busy and have yet to make it over the pond to the US of A to check on the Juneathoners there.

Its a very tricky business this spying surveillance lark but am happy to report that so far Juneathoners though ever so slightly deranged (in my opinion), are an honest bunch.

My latest Stakeout was to be on shazruns, her blogs reportedly detail early morning runs and I was sent to see if she was exaggerating her rising time, miles done and other activities logged on runstaurday. I was certain that this Juneathoner would be the one to be caught out, after all who runs that early? I positioned myself in a parked car outside her house and settled down for the night. At 4:15 am, the motion detector that I had set up in the back garden went off I then saw a ginger cat come round the corner. Not long after this the front door opened followed by an arm placing something outside the door. Shaz stepped out a few minutes later and grabbed what I can only assume was a garmin off the garden and headed out the street. I was able to tail her, keeping a safe distance, in fact she was going that slow this morning I really wondered why she bothered. I noticed the moon was out and the temp was a little cool but perfect for running in. The mist hung over the river and the sun reflected off this, brilliant sight very atmospheric. I think we ran 5 miles but will be interesting to see what is logged.

The house then was semi quiet for a while except for the occasional raised voice shouting, motherly things like “will you brush your teeth please?”, then at 8:20 am it seemed like the next exercise was to begin with Shaz and little person cycling out of the street. I followed them to what I assume was school and then on to another school where Shaz’s office seems to be located.  It was a hell of a bike ride downhill till half way then uphill the second half, what a demon on the bike she is, one of those bike riders, drivers and pedestrians complain about, very little regard for her own safety. I had it on good authority that that would be it till 2.30 so went for a lay down.

At 2.30 Shaz headed back out on her bike already changed in to her running gear. After 2 miles she pulled over and went in to the gym, where she seemed to put in a fair amount of effort whilst watching the tennis. The home journey from here went via the school to collect little person, I did not have to worry about losing her this time I could just follow the smell-think Bistro gravy advert.

I shall report back that all seems to be above board here with Shazruns, her totals will need to be checked though, I make it to be a 5 mile run, 8 mile bike ride and 1 hour in the gym. Not sure where I will be sent next but be aware Juneathoners be very aware!

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

  1. Dear Mr Snoop….nothing to see here…..it’s not worth the car ride to the South Coast for a stakeout!
    Kbai xx
PS…..Give Shaz the thumbs up for me if you’re not still incognito

Shaz you are completely mad and must be fitter than an Olympic athlete by now. I award you 7 gold medals.

Sounds like shazruns has been keeping you on your toes today Mr Snoop!! 😉

    Dear Sam

If you fancy a lie in, Abradypus is a safe bet. She’s never seen 4.15am, unlike the quite awesome Shazruns.

I better get blogging before I get caught out today!

  6. Bloomin heck, that’s early. I’m only aware of one 4.15 in the day (except when I wake up in a cold sweat panicking that I’ve forgotten to jog, blog or log) so that’s a terrifyingly brilliant effort.

I wonder if Sam will find me on holiday…

  7. Sam,
I need you to investigate further as a matter of urgency. I strongly believe that Shaz is not one person but tripplets and therefore flouting all juneathon rules. Please report back as soon as.
    Yours,

What?!?!? 4.15am?? Are you sure she does not have a twin sister and they swapped throughout the day…

  9. Errr… Nutter alert! 🙂

Wow! REALLY early start and mega effort – 5 mile run, 8 mile bike ride and 1 hour in the gym!! I could perhaps try one of them – the really early start OR the mega effort but not both, you on the other hand just keep on doing it pretty much day after day, suitably impressed! 🙂

  11. Bad Wabbit says:

Eek! You better super-charge your Oyster Card as I’m planning on Tube Running on Friday and Sunday of this very week!
