Its official I’m an athlete!

Yep sometime between Friday morning and Friday evening I became an athlete and this all happened on a non running day. Now I know you are all dying to hear how this happened and I have to say it was all without any effort from me, would like to say it was painless too but there was some discomfort involved.

Friday after dinner I was pottering around the house sorting, clearing and tidying when I  became aware of some discomfort in the toe area of my feet. Just before bed I decided to investigate and on closer look discovered blood pouring seeping between my toes and I instantly diagnosed ‘athletes foot’ was quite pleased because obviously only an athlete can suffer from such a condition, so its official as far as I’m concerned.

On my run this morning found myself wondering why the athletes foot had not travelled upwards to give me athletes legs also, they struggled a little on the 5 mile run, but what a lovely morning. Have decided that to run my usual 13 miles tomorrow would probably not be a good idea this close to Bupa hence the run today.

About shazruns

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

tee hee hee… I’d say judging by the condition of your foot, it’s a good job you don’t have athelete’s legs too!! Be thankful for small mercies I say!
